Clawed: Gilded

I'm trying out new nail art, so I thought why not drips?  It's meant to look like the gold is dripping onto my nail.  It's not the best, but I like it.
I originally did drips on all my nails, but it was looking too messy.  Hence the pink around my nails.
It's actually really easy to do, in theory anyway.  First, apply a color as your base.  Let dry.  Then, use a dotting tool to make two dots of another color.  While thats wet, use more polish to drag it up your nail.  Then, paint your tip with this color, and touch up with a dotting tool to make the edges rounded.  You can add a dot or two to suggest more dripping.  Top with a top coat.  And don't worry if you don't have a real dotting tool.  I used a flat-top pin stuck into an eraser of a pencil.  You can also use the tip of a bobby pin.  Enjoy!

Style Musings: Rainy Day

I'm still in school. It's just a math class, so it's not stressful.  This is what I wore to class the other day.

Of course I wore my light pink Forever 21 blazer! To mix it up, I matched it up with my BDG green jeans.

I tried some pattern mixing with my H&M leopard print top and Forever 21 floral flats. I think it works. What do you think?

Clawed: Colorblocked

Spring has sprung and summer is calling.  To celebrate the season, I painted my nails in a colorblock design.
First, paint your nails, except for one nail, in one color.  I used a coral from OPI. I don't know the name of it and couldn't find it on the website.  Any ideas?  Anyways, I really love this color.  It's so bright and colorful.  It looks orange in photos, but it is more of a coral color.  Let it dry.
Then paint your accent nail another color.  I used Certainly Cherry by Sally Hansen No Chip 10 Day Nail Color.  Let dry.

Then, use your first color (coral) to make a half-moon. I did a straight half-moon, but you can use binder paper reinforcements to make an actual half-moon. There are many tutorials out there to help you do that. When this is dry, slick on a top coat.

The best thing about this manicure is that you can do so much with it.  You can use any colors to complete this look.  You can do the accent design on every nail.  You can use the accent color (hot pink) to make an opposite half-moon on the other nails.  And you can do different half-moon shapes: straight, curved, or triangle.  Have fun with it!

The Coveted: H&M

This weekend, I am (hopefully) going to H&M. I love the place. They offer well-constructed, chic, trendy pieces that fit a small budget. Here are some things I am coveting.
Necklace $12.95- I want this! It's so pretty. I would wear it with everything. I love the color too. So pretty for spring.
Blazer $29.95- Pastels are so hot this season, so this pink blazer is the perfect way to introduce pastel shades into your wardrobe. You can do so many types of looks: brights, pastels, and a twist on a classic. I would get so much use out of this blazer!
Blazer $34.95- I have this idea for this blazer. I want to pair this with a pair of coral jeans and a blue tee. I can also wear it with my green jeans, purple pants, and blue jeans. I could even wear it with pretty skirts and dresses. Adds a great pop of color to anything.
Top $29.95- It's not too warm yet, so I like the idea of a buttondown. This print is interesting, which makes the top special.
Dress $29.95- Ever watch Fashion Star? I love that show. It's a competition, where designers are bidded on by byers from Macy's, Saks, and H&M. Then you can actually buy the clothes. Last week, H&M bought Sarah's design. I love it. The pattern and colors are perfect. I would wear it to school or on the weekends. It looks really comfortable.
Dress $17.95- Everyone needs a floral dress. It's cute and sexy. Perfect for spring.

Style Musings:Say Hello To My Little Friend

Did I say how much I love spring? Yes I love spring. I love the robins. I love the flowers. I love the warm sun. But I especially love the ladybugs! This particular ladybug was my grandmothers, and I love him. He adds a little whimsy to my look today.

This ladybug is crawling up a brown Zara tee, having conquered the bright violet Forever 21 pants. On my feet are Forever 21 floral flats. I really love these. I made them a little more comfortable by putting wads of electrical tape inside. I'm so ghetto.

I tied a vintage hot pink scarf onto my bag to bring in the colors in the shoes. I actually think it looks really cute!

As much as I love this look, I feel it's missing something. I think it's the blazer. Grey is an all-right color. But I think this look needs more color. I think I need a pale pink blazer. And bright orange lipstick. The pink blazer would tie in the shoes a little more, and the orange lips would tie in the ladybug.

So it's settled. On the hunt for a pale pink blazer!

But on the whole, I think this is a pretty good look.

A Bit of Romance

I wanted to see how I can style my new dress from H&M today. It is pink and transparent. I did a little romantic look today. I had to put a tank underneath because it gaps. Then I piled pearls on. They are all from my grandmother and great-grandmother. A key-shaped ring from Aldo brought in some gold. Gold Report flats add to the romantic feel.

My doggie decided to join me. My ring from Aldo Accessories. And purple nails!

Criticism

I think this outfit is cute! Maybe neutral heels would work, too. I just have to work on my posing.

Stay pink!
